I just want to put out that I love the apartment community and the amenities. It has a good family vibe for those looking for a place to live, but if you are looking for a place to live and work from home? I'd say look elsewhere. And here is why, these buildings were built 20-40 years ago, and back then the internet infrastructure wasn't as crucial back then. But now, the amount of data is massive and I don't think they can handle the load. You can get good download speeds from the internet, no... doubt about that, it is pricey though. But my problem is the upload speeds. During business hours and peak usage times, your upload speeds are terrible. I have the platinum package which is 20 Mbps download straight from the router and on the wifi I can get 15-20 Mbps usually, but the upload speed is 0.20-1.5 Mbps upload......... that's right, below 1 Mbps upload speeds. You can't surf the internet very well at times because your computer or device can't even send the request effectively! I have had issues with loading google or outlook mail at times! That's hardly any data at all! And if you change speeds, it's not a 1:1 increase. I had a package that gave me 40 Mbps download but the upload was only 2-4 Mbps upload. So going from 20 to 40 Mbps download, you increase 20 Mbps, but the upload changed from 0.20 to ~3 Mbps upload............ that is not an equal increase at all. So if you plan to work from home, or be a streamer/influencer or gamer, this place is may not be the right place for you. Read More

I work nights and have trouble getting enough sleep as it is. I’m currently sleep deprived and miserable because Willowbrook gave no notice of extensive maintenance of the apartment above us. Extremely loud hammering like its a foot always from me. This is the 4th complex I’ve lived at in Lynchburg, and this experience is enough for me to say it’s easily the worst. No other place has ever been this poor.

Almost five years at Willowbrook I know a made a great choice when I moved here from Texas! Very spacious, great floor plan and storage .Free cable and lost cost wifi.

I like to walk for exercise and the grounds in this apartment community are very beautiful and well maintained - even a very nice pond with a fountain that changes color in the evening. I was happy to find out that even with a second floor apartment, the building and the area are very quiet.

The administrative staff and... maintenance people are very friendly and efficient.

After doing an extensive apartment search I choose Willowbrook, and after almost five years I know I made the best choice! The apartment is very roomy - even a dining area which is rare. great floor plan and huge storage area next to a nice deep balcony which I practically live on! It's very quiet - second floor apartment and rarely hear anyone above or below me. The administrative staff is always friendly and efficient, as are the maintenance people. The grounds are meticulously maintained and beautifully landscaped. The buildings are solid, clean, modern and comfortable. Maintenance issues are taken care of promptly. Tenants are friendly and quiet. And the amenities are first- rate.

BUT! The "cable" TV and Internet service is owned by the management and is, in fact, just a dish service that often loses its signal. This has happened the past three days in a row. It's like trying to get television in some third-world country. The Internet... service is also owned by management and is also woefully inadequate. Average Internet connect speeds nationwide are about 20 Mbs. Here you get 3 to 4 Mbs. No competitors are allowed, so if you live at Willowbrook, you have to take their West African-grade TV and Internet connections. Or do without.

I can understand Tomlin & Associates (the owners) wanting to make a profit, and I certainly don't begrudge them that goal. But they are making a foolish mistake in shutting out competitors for these services, just for the sake of profiting from a monopoly on crappy TV and Internet.

I would give Willowbrook a five-star rating, but this one huge stain in their operation gets them three stars.
